How to Publish a Tavern Character Card
on AIME Character Atlas
You already know how to make or import a Tavern card. This page covers the creator side: how publishing to the AIME Character Atlas public catalog fits, what visibility options mean at a high level, and what Creator earnings currently say about points and withdrawals.
We build AIME and Character Atlas. Disclosed up front. Checked 2026-10-26 (Asia/Shanghai). This guide does not promise reach, a payout schedule, or a signed-in walkthrough of every publish control. Where the UI requires login, use the live Card studio and Creator earnings pages.
Sister guides: import a SillyTavern / Tavern card into AIME for PNG and visibility details; What is AIME Character Atlas? for the product map; and make a Tavern character card for the fields to write first.
Who this is for
- Creators with Tavern Character Card V2/V3 PNGs who want their cards discoverable in AIME’s public catalog.
- People who already chat in AIME and want others to find their card, beyond a private import.
If you only need the app on your phone, use the download and install guide. If you are looking for cards others made, see where to find SillyTavern character cards.
What “publish” means on Atlas
AIME’s product copy says Atlas lets you discover, import, edit, and share Tavern cards, and that creators can publish characters to the public catalog. Visibility choices shown in Card studio on the import guide’s 2026-10-23 check were:
| Visibility | Rough intent |
|---|---|
| Private (default) | Your card stays with you |
| Link only | Shareable without full catalog browse positioning |
| Public | Eligible to appear in the public catalog and discovery surfaces |
Reopen Card studio if those labels change. Publishing is optional; you can keep a card private and chat in the app.
Before you publish
- Rights: Publish only cards you own or have permission to share. Do not upload someone else’s paid or restricted card.
- Format: Card studio’s documented public import path accepts a PNG with embedded Tavern V2/V3 metadata. This guide does not claim a JSON-only upload path.
- Quality: Check that the name, greeting, and description work without private lore notes that public readers cannot see.
- Audience: AIME is positioned for a store-safe, 13+ audience. Do not treat Atlas as an adult card hub.
- Account: Sign in to finish the studio import and publish flow.
High-level publish path
- Open Card studio.
- Drop in your Tavern PNG, or open a card you already imported.
- Review the embedded fields and edit them if needed.
- Choose Public only when you want catalog discovery. The import guide explains the “private first, then widen” approach.
- Check the live Atlas home and your creator views to confirm the character appears as expected.
The final controls may be login-gated and can change. Follow the live UI rather than assuming a button name from this page.
Exposure reality
AIME’s public catalog is still small compared with large character libraries. Browse the live Atlas home for its current scope; this guide does not give a live character count or promise a ranking.
- A clear greeting and distinct personality help people understand a card better than near-duplicate uploads.
- Discovery includes Atlas browsing and search, alongside in-app surfaces.
- Publishing does not guarantee search-engine indexing. The Atlas explainer discusses conservative robots settings seen on sampled character detail pages.
Creator earnings and withdrawals
Atlas links to Creator earnings. Its public copy was re-checked on 2026-10-26:
- The withdrawal dialog says “Withdrawals are coming soon” and “Cash withdrawals are not available yet. Your points remain in your account.”
- 100 points = USD 1 is an estimated cash value. Final terms are shown when withdrawals become available.
- Only purchased Shells actually spent chatting with characters added from your creations earn points, at 20 Shells = 1 point, with remainders carried. Free Shells, membership gifts, publication, downloads, additions, and referrals earn no new points.
Publishing a card alone earns no points. Cash withdrawals are not available yet. This is not a payout promise; open the live Creator page for current rules.
After publish: make the card usable
- Tell players where to find your card on Atlas and how to download AIME for chat.
- If you revise definitions, re-export the PNG and update it in studio so the public greeting stays current.
- For scenes involving a cast, see AI group chat characters.
FAQ
Do I have to publish to use my card in AIME?
No. Private import is enough for your own chats. Publish only if you want catalog discovery.
Is publishing the same as Creator cash out?
No. Publishing changes visibility. Creator earnings tracks points and estimated cash value; cash withdrawals were not available as of 2026-10-26.
Will publishing alone earn points?
No. Publication itself earns no new points. Points come from purchased Shells spent chatting with characters added from your creations, at 20 Shells = 1 point.
Can I unpublish later?
The import guide documents Private, Link only, and Public visibility choices. Confirm the exact control for changing visibility in your signed-in studio.
Where do readers download the app?
Use the AIME download guide or the official download options.
