SillyTavern Character Cards on iPhone & Android
(Without a Desktop)

A Tavern character card is portable. Full SillyTavern on a desktop often is not. That mismatch is why people search sillytavern on iphone, run sillytavern on android, or “character cards on my phone.”

We build AIME and the AIME Character Atlas. This page is a path guide: what the official SillyTavern docs actually say about phones, four realistic options, and how to bring a card into AIME if that is the path you want. It is not an official SillyTavern document, not a ranked “best app” list, and not a soft claim that AIME is SillyTavern.

We re-checked the SillyTavern FAQ, public pages for MiniTavern, Foreverse, and PokiTavern, plus our own Atlas home on 2026-10-25 (Asia/Shanghai). Store regions, versions, and prices change — trust each live page over this article.

Short answer — can SillyTavern run on a phone?

iPhone / iPad: You cannot run the whole SillyTavern app on the device. The official FAQ is clear: ST is a web UI you can open from a phone after it is already running on another computer (see their Remote Connections docs).

Android: Besides the remote-browser route, you can try running SillyTavern on the phone with Termux. Official docs exist for that install path. The same FAQ notes that Termux installations are not officially supported and are not guaranteed to work.

Is there an official SillyTavern mobile app? No. The SillyTavern project does not ship a store app on iOS or Android. App Store / Play listings with “tavern” in the name are independent products that may read compatible card formats. Several of them say so on their own sites.

What you actually need on mobile

Three pieces that people often mash together:

  1. The card file — usually a PNG with embedded character data (chara / ccv3), not just a portrait.
  2. A chat UI — desktop SillyTavern, a browser pointed at a hosted ST, or a native companion app.
  3. A model backend — local, cloud API, or whatever that UI is wired to.

You can get the card without owning a desktop ST install. For where people commonly download free / public cards, see our guide: Where to Find SillyTavern Character Cards. Only use cards you created or that creators clearly allow you to reuse.

Path A — Browse a hosted SillyTavern from your phone

Keep SillyTavern running on a PC, NAS, or VPS. Open its web UI in Safari or Chrome on your phone (typically on the same network, or over a setup you secure yourself).

Good if you need the full SillyTavern extension surface and already maintain a host.
Watch-outs: the host must stay up; leaving your LAN usually means VPN, tunnel, or public exposure you have to harden yourself. This article will not walk weak-password public setups.

Path B — Termux on Android (power users)

On Android only, the SillyTavern project documents an Android (Termux) installation. Use their steps as source of truth — we are not copying a full ops manual here.

Good if you want the real SillyTavern stack on a phone and accept maintenance.
Watch-outs: not officially supported; background kills, updates, and device quirks are on you. Do not expect “every Android phone works the same.”

Path C — Native apps that read Tavern cards

These are separate products, not official SillyTavern. They typically import ST-compatible cards and give you a phone-native chat UI. Features, regions, and pricing differ — check each store or site the day you install. Below are short notes from pages we opened on 2026-10-25; we are not ranking a winner.

MiniTavern

MiniTavern’s intro (Published Feb 27, 2026 · Updated Mar 31, 2026) positions a native iOS / Android client as a practical phone loop when desktop Node.js is unrealistic on iPhone. It describes ST-compatible card import (image or URL), common API backends, and states it is not an official SillyTavern product. Core chat is described as free with optional paid extras — confirm in the store.

Good if you want a store/APK native client and ST-compatible cards.
Watch-outs: not ST extensions; treat their comparison table as their marketing, not our verification of every cell.

Foreverse

Foreverse’s iPhone page (updated October 2026) frames two routes: hosted SillyTavern in Safari vs a native app. It states there is no official ST iOS app, lists other iPhone apps that read tavern cards (MiniTavern, NativeTavern, Tavo — those other store listings were not re-opened this pass; treat as named-on-that-page only), and notes the iPhone app is not yet on the mainland China App Store at the time of that page. We are not repeating their provider counts, price, or credit claims here.

Good if you want a native iPhone route and are in a region where the store listing exists.
Watch-outs: region limits and import depth change — read their live compatibility page before migrating a large library.

PokiTavern

PokiTavern’s iOS status page (status as of 2026-07-26) says there is no iPhone app yet — Android APK only (version numbers on that page; trust the site for current build). An iPhone can browse a running Android / host instance on the same LAN. The page also states PokiTavern is not affiliated with SillyTavern.

Good if you already have Android and want their packaged route.
Watch-outs: iPhone-only users cannot install it today; sideloaded APKs always carry source-trust risk — prefer the publisher’s own site over random mirrors.

Path D — Import into AIME (our product)

AIME is an AI companion / roleplay app. Character Atlas lets you discover, import, edit, and share portable Tavern Character Cards (V2/V3). Creators can publish into the public catalog.

AIME is not SillyTavern. It does not run SillyTavern extensions or claim 1:1 desktop ST parity. It is a phone-friendly path: bring a compatible card in, then keep chatting in the AIME app (long-term memory, voice, multi-character group chat, and other features are described on the homepage — this page stays on the mobile-path question).

How import works today: use Atlas Card studio with a Tavern PNG (embedded chara / ccv3). Sign-in is required. Step-by-step clicks, failure cases, and honest boundaries are in our published guide: How to Import a SillyTavern / Tavern Character Card into AIME. We do not promise one-click migration of desktop chat logs or standalone lorebook files beyond what that guide and the live studio support.

On 2026-10-25 (Asia/Shanghai) the Atlas home copy still read “149 characters.” That is a small public library on purpose — check characters.365aime.com for the count the day you visit. AIME is free to download; Premium is optional — prices are shown in the store.

Good if you want a companion-style mobile app and already have (or can get) a Tavern PNG, without hosting SillyTavern yourself.
Watch-outs: not a Termux replacement; not an ST extension runtime.

How to choose (simple decision guide)

If you…Lean toward…
Need full SillyTavern extensionsPath A (hosted ST in a browser) or Path B (Termux on Android)
Only have an iPhone and want low opsPath C (a native app available in your region) or Path D (AIME)
Already have a card and want to keep chatting in AIMEPath D + the import guide
Still need a card fileWhere to find character cards

There is no universal “best.” Match the path to whether you need the ST server, a native tavern-style client, or a companion app with import.

FAQ

Can you run SillyTavern on an iPhone?
Not the full SillyTavern server. Per the official FAQ, run ST on another computer and open it in the phone browser, or use a separate native app that reads compatible cards.

Is there an official SillyTavern mobile app?
No. Store apps with tavern-style names are independent. Several say they are not affiliated with SillyTavern — believe those disclaimers.

How do I use character cards on Android without a PC?
Options include Termux + ST (documented, not officially supported), a native Android app that imports Tavern cards, browsing a hosted ST from Chrome, or importing a PNG into AIME via Atlas.

Is AIME the same as SillyTavern?
No. AIME is our companion app; Atlas imports portable Tavern cards. SillyTavern is a separate open-source front-end. We do not claim official affiliation.

How do I import a card into AIME?
Follow Import SillyTavern / Tavern cards into AIME: Card studio → Tavern PNG → parse & save → same AIME account on iOS 15+ or Android.

Are MiniTavern / Foreverse / PokiTavern official SillyTavern?
No. Their own pages describe independent apps (and PokiTavern’s iOS page, as of 2026-07-26, says there is no iPhone build yet). Always re-check the product site and store listing for your region.

Honest boundaries

  • We disclose that we make AIME / Atlas. Path D is our product path; Paths A–C are documented alternatives.
  • We do not invent search volumes, download ranks, star ratings, or “closest to ST” scores.
  • Competitor feature depth, provider lists, and prices are not copied as our facts — confirm on each live site / store.
  • Atlas public catalog size: 149 on home copy as of 2026-10-25; the live home can change.
  • Characters and replies are fictional AI. They do not replace professional medical, legal, financial, or mental health advice.
  • AIME is positioned for store-safe, 13+ framing on our side. This guide is about phone paths, not an adult-content shopping list.

Next step

  1. Pick a path from the table above.
  2. If you still need a card, start with Where to Find SillyTavern Character Cards.
  3. If you choose AIME: import via Card studio / the import guide, browse public cards on Character Atlas, then download AIME for iPhone or Android with the same account.
